UBER is a ride from the Uber taxi app. UBER* EATS is a food delivery order. Both come from the same company — Uber Technologies.
Uber uses two billing labels on statements. UBER or UBER BV is a charge for a ride taken through the Uber app — private hire taxis and ride-sharing. UBER* EATS is a food delivery order placed through Uber Eats.
Uber ride charges are calculated based on the distance, time, and current demand (surge pricing). The fare shown in the app before you book is an estimate — the final charge may differ slightly based on the actual route taken. Uber also charges a booking fee on top of the fare.
For Uber Eats, the charge includes the food total, a delivery fee, and a service fee. Uber One (Uber's subscription) provides discounts on rides and free delivery on Uber Eats orders — if you subscribed, you'll see a separate monthly charge for that.
