The initial SHEIN charge is usually straightforward: it lands when the order is placed, often well before the parcel arrives. The charges that confuse people come afterwards.

Import charges are separate and not from SHEIN

SHEIN ships from overseas warehouses. Depending on how an order is shipped and valued, import VAT and handling fees can apply, and these are collected by the carrier rather than by SHEIN. They arrive as a separate demand from Royal Mail, Evri, DHL or whoever is delivering, not as a SHEIN charge.

So a second payment relating to a SHEIN order may be entirely legitimate but will carry a completely different merchant name. People frequently report this as a duplicate SHEIN charge when it is a carrier fee.

SHEIN Club is a recurring subscription

SHEIN sells a paid membership offering discounts and free shipping. It renews automatically and is separate from any order. A small recurring SHEIN charge in a month you bought nothing is most likely this.

It is managed in the app under Me, then the membership section. As with most such schemes, cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current period.

Refund timing and where the money goes

SHEIN offers refunds either to the original payment method or as wallet credit, and wallet credit processes faster. That speed difference leads people to accept wallet credit and then forget it exists.

Refunds to a card take longer and appear as a credit from SHEIN or from Roadget Business, its parent entity, which may not match the descriptor on the original charge. A refund that looks like it came from a different company is normal here.

If a charge has no matching order

  1. Check the app under My Orders, including cancelled and archived orders.
  2. Check whether the amount matches a membership fee rather than a purchase.
  3. Check whether anyone else in the household has the app installed with your card saved.
  4. Check for a carrier import fee, which relates to a SHEIN parcel but bills under the courier's name.
  5. If none fit, remove the saved card, change the account password, and treat it as an unauthorised transaction with your bank.
