This is your monthly BT bill — covering home broadband, landline, BT TV, or BT Sport.
BT GROUP or BRITISH TELECOM on your bank statement is your monthly BT bill. BT is the UK's largest broadband and fixed-line telephone provider, also offering BT TV and BT Sport. The charge covers whichever BT products you subscribe to — typically home broadband, your phone line rental, and any TV or sport add-ons.
BT bills are taken by direct debit monthly. The amount can change if your introductory deal period ends and reverts to the standard (higher) rate, or if BT applies its annual price increase — BT typically raises prices in March or April each year by CPI plus a fixed percentage. Customers are supposed to be notified 30 days in advance; if you missed the notice, this may explain a sudden increase.
If you have both BT broadband and an EE mobile contract, these appear as separate charges on your statement from separate companies — BT GROUP for your home services and EE LIMITED for mobile — even though both are owned by BT Group plc.
